Wet Carpet and Floor Drying in Grapevine, TX
Floors take the worst of almost every water loss. Water lands on them first, spreads across them fastest, and hides underneath them longest. The good news is that many floors can be saved if drying starts quickly. The key is knowing which floors can be saved and which cannot, before anything gets torn out.

Overview
Floors take the worst of almost every water loss. Water lands on them first, spreads across them fastest, and hides underneath them longest. The good news is that many floors can be saved if drying starts quickly. The key is knowing which floors can be saved and which cannot, before anything gets torn out.
Can your floor be saved?
This depends on the type of water, the type of floor, and how long it has been wet.
How water damage work goes
We find the source, map moisture with meters and a thermal camera, start extraction, and leave you with photos and readings for insurance.
Air movers and dehumidifiers run until readings meet the dry standard. Then we clean, treat, and handle repairs so you keep one point of contact.

Wet carpet
Carpet is often the easiest floor to save. We extract water from the carpet and pad with weighted tools, then float the carpet by lifting it and blowing air underneath. If the pad is soaked through, replacing it is often cheaper than drying it. We clean and deodorize the carpet before it goes back down so it does not smell later.
Hardwood floors
Wood absorbs water and swells, which makes boards cup, where the edges rise above the center. Drying hardwood takes patience. We use suction mats across the floor to pull water out from between and under the boards, combined with dehumidifiers. Many cupped floors flatten back out as they dry. If the boards still are not flat after drying, refinishing or replacement is the next step.
Laminate and vinyl plank
These floors have a hard top layer that blocks drying from above, so water stays trapped underneath on the slab. We usually remove a section to reach the water. Vinyl plank can often be cleaned and reinstalled. Laminate that has swelled at the seams cannot be saved.
Tile over slab
Tile holds up well, but water can sit in the grout, under the tile, and in the slab below. We check readings through the tile and dry the slab so moisture does not lead to loose tiles or mold along the walls.

Not if it is dried quickly and cleaned. Smell usually comes from wet pad left in place too long.
Yes, carefully. Walking on floated carpet or drying mats is fine for short trips. We mark any areas to avoid.
Not necessarily. Cupping often reverses with proper drying. Wait until the floor is fully dry before deciding to sand or replace.
